Queen Rania shares a rare family portrait from an intimate get-together…

We hope you all remembered to celebrate the matriarchs in your lives on Tuesday (and hey, if you forgot, it’s not too late to treat her with some of these Mother’s Day deals).

However our favourite snap from this year’s Mother’s Day comes courtesy of Jordan’s royal household.

Queen Rania Al-Abdullah had a low-key family meal with her mother and sister to celebrate the occasion, and shared a rare family portrait from the night.

“My sister and I, celebrating the best mom ever!” the royal captioned the understated image, as the trio dished up dinner.

Wearing a cosy knitted jumper, HRH gave her mum, Ilham Yassin, a squeeze – and the family resemblance between the three was clear.

The royal also shared another snap in honour of the annual event, after she visited a group of local mothers.

“No words of gratitude can do you justice… Happy Mother’s Day! A picture from my meeting with a group of Jordanian mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day,” Queen Rania captioned the shot.

The mum-of-four was also celebrated by her own family on Tuesday, with her son – Crown Prince Hussein – dedicating an Instagram post to his mother.

“Wishing my mother @queenrania and all the mothers out there a happy #MothersDay. May God bless you all and fill your days with happiness and joy,” the 22-year-old wrote, alongside an image of the pair.

The Jordanian ruling family weren’t the only royals marking Mother’s Day online either – HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein penned an open letter praising the women who raised the UAE’s leader.
