Inside the wardrobes and homes of the region’s most respected trendsetters and tastemakers. This week we enter the home of TV presenter Sara Murad.
Who: Sara Murad | Age: 26 | Nationality: Saudi Arabian | Profession: TV Presenter
As a seasoned television presenter, Sara is used to bright lights and people fawning around her. So it comes as no surprise she opens the door camera-ready. A down-to-earth, natural beauty, she welcomes us with Saudi coffee and dates, singing the praises of the culture in which she was raised. It’s fitting then that she reveals a collection that blends tradition with modern luxury in a way that only a Middle Eastern girl could.
My Beauty Secret: I love simple, natural make-up and mainly use bronze shades in my daily routine. I ensure I clean my face very well and remove every last speck of make-up before I go to sleep.
Bargain Hunter: There’s really nothing better than Harvey Nichols Dubai during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Style Icons: I’m a big fan of Jessica Alba and get really inspired by Dutch fashion blogger Negin Mirsalehi (neginmirsalehi.com).
Treasured Pieces: An emerald ring and gold bracelet embellished with different gemstones – they both belonged to my great-grandmother.
Shop Stop: I love Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Harvey Nichols- Dubai because they literally have everything. Zara and H&M are top of my list when it comes to the high street.
Uniform Of Choice: It all depends on how I’m feeling. You’ll find me in a floaty dress some days and ripped jeans with a simple top on others.
Best Fashion Advice I’ve Ever Been Given: My mother always says, “Wear the right outfit at the right time. Never be overdressed and never be underdressed.” It’s a real art.
