You know sneakers – aka trainers to the Brits among you – are back in fashion when every designer seemingly worth their sartorial salt launches a special line of the comfortable shoes. The latest to do so is one of our favourite footwear designers of the moment – Charlotte Olympia.
Famous for her quirky heels, which ooze originality and eccentric style, Charlotte Olympia‘s foray in to the world of sneakers has shocked us. Although, yes, she has already designed a very popular range of flats (her kitten-faced pumps are one of the most recognisable shoes in the industry), ‘ultimate comfort’ footwear is something we never thought she would venture into, but, boy, are we grateful she did.
This British luxury shoe and accessories designer, who is the sister of model and Chanel muse Alice Dellal, will launch her debut capsule collection of sneakers this spring, with the range including five styles featuring signature Charlotte Olympia details such as the iconic Kitty face and the spider web. Meanwhile, in true Charlotte Olympia style, the colour scheme comes in gold, black and white leather, leopard pony hair, and baby pink silk satin – the designer’s shoes demand attention.
Playful luscious red lips adorn Kiss Me Sneakers in black and off-white nappa. A delicate gold metallic web covers the Web Sneakers in black canvas and luxurious blush silk satin while the Web High-Tops are capped at the toe in gold. Choose from the low-top Purrrfect Sneakers or Purrrfect high-tops featuring the iconic Kitty face embroidered on the tongue and gold spider web logo. Available in leopard ponyskin and rich red and black velvet keeping you glamorous even when dressing down – it’s a fashion win-win.
The sneaker collection will be available from May 2015 at the Charlotte Olympia boutique at Mall of the Emirates.
