The Beach, JBR, will hold its first ever Saudi Cinema Weekend where a number of award-winning short films by Saudi directors will screen at Roxy Cinema. These include Mamdouh Salem’s biography of King Abdul Aziz Al Saud Desert Eagle and Tawfik Alzaidi’s The Other, which touches on fatherhood and sacrifice.
On Saturday, a grand parade will take a place at The Beach, with horses cantering along to Saudi national melodies. The following evening, La Mer is set to host an extravagant fireworks display from 8:30pm, complete with traditional Saudi dance.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia have long enjoyed a close relationship. 85% of Saudis consider Dubai as their location of choice while 46% of Saudi visitors have holidayed here more than once in 2017.
We’re excited for the weekend already!
