Our favourite model of the moment Cara Delevingne has hooked up with one of our favourite rockers, Jared Leto with the pair both signed up to star in The Suicide Squad.

The year 2014 has been the year of Cara Delevingne. Not only has she been dominating in the world of fashion, but British beauty has also proven herself to be a respected actress and has also proven that she can sing – beauty, brains and talent we should really be jealous but we still love her.

From starring, and singing, in Chanel’s Reincarnation fairy tale, alongside Pharrell Williams to bagging lead roles in Paper Towns and Pan, Delevingne has now landed herself a more credible (and by that we mean Hollywood blockbuster-worthy) and meaty role by breaking in to the genre of action, starring in The Suicide Squad a big-time movie alongside many major actors including the fabulous Jared Leto and Will Smith.

According to E! Online, The Suicide Squad is a Warner Brothers adaptation of the DC supervillains-turned-government-agents comic book. The characters play a group of anti-heroes who are employed by the US government to undertake missions in return for their own prison sentences being reduced. Delevingne will play the magical villain Enchantress, whose alter ego, June Moone, is a freelance artist.

Leto will play the Joker while Smith has been cast as Deadshot. Adding to the A-list casting is British heartthrob Tom Hardy, who will play Rick Flagg, and Aussie star Margot Robbie, who will play Harley Quinn, the Joker’s girlfriend. Oscar-winner Oprah Winfrey is also rumoured to be considered for a role in the movie.

Production for the film starts in April, with the film slated to come out August 5, 2016. However by then we will be used to seeing the model du jour on the big screen with Cara Delevingne  scheduled to star in five films due for release in 2015 – Tulip FeverLondon FieldsKids In Love;  Pan; and Paper Towns.

If ever we needed proof that women can have it all, Cara Delevingne is it.
