Naturally, the bag sold out in minutes…

Queen Bey was recently in South Africa for the Global Citizen Festival, which she was headlining in celebration of Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday. Ever the fashion icon, Beyoncé was spotted sporting the Chili Marquetry clutch from Lebanese brand Sarah’s Bag.

The Chili Marquetry clutch is from the brand’s Love Inked Collection, the bag is made of an old technique called wood marquetry, which uses pieces of wood to create a geometric pattern. The bag’s golden chilli pepper clasp and use of bright colours of red, orange, and yellow make it a must have piece, that matches Beyoncé’s bold fashion choices.

The Lebanese brand, which identifies as a fashion label and social enterprise, took to Instagram to express their happiness and thanked the ‘Single Ladies’ hit-maker on purchasing the bag from a stockist in California.

“We are so happy to have our bag worn by an empowering, incredibly gifted artist like Beyonce, who is a once-in-a-generation talent. Beyoncé is one of our heroes and her mission mirrors ours: she wants to empower women and seeks to have a positive impact on the world through her art.”

What makes the brand unique is that they benefit a special cause, which is helping underprivileged women in Lebanon. The impressive beading and embroidery is made possible by a team of over 200 women, some of whom are female prisoners, ex-prisoners and underprivileged women. Ever since its launch in 2000, the Sarah’s Bag team has trained women, helping them turn their life around by using their income to overturn wrongful convictions and support their families.

We can’t wait to see what Beyoncé rocks next!
