OK, it’s official, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is en vogue, literally, with Vogue editor Anna Wintour becoming the latest celebrity to throw a bucket of freezing cold water over her head in a bid to raise money and awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease. She may be one of the most famous faces in the fashion industry but Anna Wintour wasn’t too vain to get her famous bob  wet, or rather drenched, and accepted the challenge.

The 64-year-old media mogul  was nominated by her daughter Bee Shaffer, who did her challenge wearing a white T-shirt and black bra – either an unfortunate wardrobe choice or a rather flirtatious way to seek more attention from her 37,054 followers on Instagram, where she posted her video.

Dressed in a demure summer frock and wearing her signature sunglasses, Anna accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, even roping in her family to help. Dropping her usual stoic demeanour, Anna shouts “action!” before explaining she is accepting Bee’s challenge and revealing her two nominations: tennis star Roger Federer, English actor Dominic West.

Luckily for Anna she didn’t get as big a soaking as Bee, with her ice water thrower (technical term unknown) dropping the bucket after only throwing half of the contents. That said Anna was as fast as a whippet once the water was thrown, darting out of her seat in seconds.

Anna posted the video, which was shot at her Caribbean holiday home in the private island of Mustique, on Vogue‘s Facebook page, receiving nearly 200 hits.

However, Bee wasn’t the only person to nominate Anna, supermodel Gisele Bundchen also picked the fashion legend. Gisele’s attempt can only be described as half-hearted, dousing herself with a only a bowl (not bucket, the clue is in the title Gisele) of ice water.

Still, it’s all for a good cause. For more information about ALS, visit here. If you wish to donate, visit here
