Amira Haroon and SW7 By Mariam Bengali,

The fashion scene in the UAE has been given a huge injection of excitement and creativity lately, from Fashion Forward Season Four to the urban extravaganza that was Sole DXB and even the unique private dinner launch of The Kooples. It’s not just about shopping, it’s about the experience. Adding to this emerging scene is a new collaboration between Amira Haroon and SW7 By Mariam Bengali, who will present their range in an Al Quoz pop-up boutique.

Following the success of their previous collaborations with Dubai-based curator Anthropology of Design at Galeries Lafayette, Harvey Nichols and a number of luxury fashion boutiques, Amira Haroon and Mariam Bengali will once again partner with an exciting pop-up boutique, this time in the Mussawir Art Gallery, in Al Quoz.

The pop-up boutique will present Amira and Mariam’s autumn/winter 2014 collections, showcasing their unique, but complimenting visions in a creative setting and allowing customers to interact directly with the designers themselves.

Amira Haroon is an established Dubai-based fashion house, whose pieces currently retail through multiple locations worldwide, including Galeries Lafayette, Harvey Nichols and S*uce in Dubai. Haroon’s design philosophy is to produce clothes that have a story to tell, representing a trans-regional outlook that reflects her training at the Parsons School of Design in Paris. This approach is clearly evident in her  autumn/winter 2014  line – a Parisian-inspired exploration of the designers of the Art Nouveau period.  Pieces incorporate metallic tweeds, bird motifs and vintage Asian gold lacquer box style chinoiserie to creating a beautiful and contemporary amalgamation of East meets West.

SW7 by Mariam Bengali is the expression of Mariam Bengali, who trained at Chelsea College of Art and subsequently worked as a personal stylist with Harvey Nichols London for nearly a decade. Stocked in Galeries Lafayette and Harvey Nichols, the label caters to the sophisticated and highly feminine, contrasting darker fabrics and nudes with metallic gold and silver for a seductive look day or night.  The collection stays faithful to the brand’s core philosophy, using seductive drapery and embellishment to stunning effect.

The Amira Haroon & Mariyam Bengali Pop-Up Boutique at Mussawir Art Gallery, Al Quoz will take place from November 22-23, between 10am to 7pm.
