Here’s how to keep those dark circles and blemishes under wraps, even when the humidity hits.
Earlier this week we brought you our five favourite summer-proof foundations, and it got us thinking – what other products do we rely on to stop our face sliding around under the sun?
Slippery concealers that leave our blemishes uncovered and under-eyes creased are among our biggest beauty bugbears, and nothing worsens the situation quite like humidity.
However, through our years of persistent testing, we have found a range of options that all score highly when it comes to longevity, coverage and a resistance to creasing.

Five Foundations That Really Won’t Budge During A Humid Summer
All of the below have been tried and tested by us (we promise), and have survived a full day at work, still as evident on our skin at 10pm as they were when first applied.
We’ve struggled to find any high-street brands as hardy as the below offerings (though honourable mentions go to Maybelline’s Superstay Better Skin Concealer + Corrector and Revlon’s Colorstay). Got a great recommendation? Share it in the comments!
Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer, Dhs175
When it comes to the Holy Grail of immovable concealers, this might just be the one. It dominates beauty forums, blogs and vlogs for its creamy texture, matte but yet brightening finish, and excellent blending ability. We used this for years before trialling several others, but we’re going back to it – it’s that good.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Dhs159
The other most-reached-for concealer in our beauty bags is this fan-favourite from NARS. Seriously, we have one in our handbag at all times, plus another in our daily makeup drawer. It’s got a gorgeously smooth consistency, which makes covering up blemishes (yes, even the dry flakier ones) a total breeze, but it doesn’t crease or fade throughout the day. It works well on both the face and undereyes, so it’s a great one-stop option, and the doe-foot applicator means topping up on the run is a doddle.
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer, Dhs100
We bought this on the recommendation of two of Dubai’s premier beauty bloggers, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. It makes easy work of covering up dark circles – and trust us, we gave it some serious ones to deal with – without highlighting dryness or fine lines (hurrah!). Blending out the thicker texture might take some getting used to, but it’s worth it for the full coverage and waterproof finish (it didn’t budge on us on a 70 per cent humidity day).
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, Dhs155
This is in many a beauty editor’s bag for a reason – when it comes to masking breakouts, this never lets us down. The solid texture makes this typically too drying for the undereye area (though if you warm a bit up on the back of your hand, and add just a touch of moisturiser or eye cream, you’ll have a more spreadable consistency). However it’s beyond dependable for covering blemishes – apply with a fine-tipped brush, and blend out with your fingertip.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer, Dhs147
Another great-on-the-go number comes from the consistently great Double Wear line. Much like the foundation(s), this liquidy formula resists smudging and creasing, both undereye and around the face, even on our oily skin. It does dry quite quickly, however, so make sure you blend at speed.
