Michael Cinco and Zuhair Murad make the best-dressed lists with their creations…
The 2017 Billboard Music Awards were full of fashion highs – and a few lows – when they took place in the US on Sunday night.
However two of the event’s most stand-out looks came from a little closer to home – one via Dubai, in fact.
UAE-based designer Michael Cinco dressed rap star Nicki Minaj in a shimmery black mini, which the star wore while joining Drake onstage as he collected his Top Artist award.

The couture number featured a demure high neck and long sleeves, with a beaded hemline providing plenty of movement.
Cinco, who is originally from the Philippines but is based in Dubai, has been on a bit of a roll this week, giving Bollywood legend Aishwarya Rai a Cinderella moment in a billowing blue gown at the Cannes Film Festival.
The designer is no stranger to dressing a star or two, having worked with Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and 2016 Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, to name just a few of his past clients.
However Cinco wasn’t the only designer from the Middle East making a splash on the Billboard red (well, pink) carpet.

Lebanese label Zuhair Murad dressed Pearl Harbour star Kate Beckinsale in a plunging floor-length gown for her arrival at the awards.
Featuring spectacular firework-inspired embellishments, the sheer number had us reminiscing about our favourite Van Gogh work of art.
The British actress wore a gown from the label’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Murad later revealed on Instagram.
“There were fireworks in #Vegas yesterday night!” the brand captioned an image of Beckinsale, who presented an award on the night.

Murad has also been stunning in the south of France this week, dressing models Winnie Harlow and Sara Sampaio (to name just a couple) at the annual film festival.
