Now you can finally own a place in Emirates Hills (albeit a very small plastic one)…
Since the take-off of tech, board games have received less and less love over the years.
However, there’s one staple which will always hold a place in our hearts (and Christmas Day family activities) – Monopoly.
The real-estate game brings out the best businessperson in all of us, allowing us to live out that rags to riches fantasy we’ve always dreamed of while conning our friends out of millions of Monopoly dollars.

And now, the game will feel even more real for those of us living in the UAE.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry have launched their own Dubai version of the game, named Dubai-Opoly.
The locally-themed version will soon be hitting the shelves around the GCC, complete with Dubai’s most prominent landmarks, attractions and neighbourhoods for you to snatch up.
Among some of the included neighbourhoods are Umm Suqeim, Za’abeel, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches, Al Barsha and more.
If you’re wondering what the more expensive neighbourhoods featured are, we can imagine Emirates Hills and The Palm Jumeirah will be up there.

As far as playing pieces go, there will be a camel, a dallah, a falcon, the Burj Khalifa and (we’re not quite sure what it is) a barrel-shaped object.
No price or release date for the game has been announced, but we will keep you updated when they are.
Dubai-Opoly will serve as an attempt by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote the city as a global hub for business and trade.
“By launching this unique initiative, we will promote Dubai’s brand and boost its international profile,” said HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber, when announcing th game.
“Dubai-Opoly offers an ideal platform to showcase what Dubai has to offer businesses and tourists, while it also merges these two concepts together in a fun and interactive way.”
