Lindsay Lohan surprised fans when she wiped clean her social media accounts last week, leaving just the Arabic greeting “assalam alaikum” on her Instagram page.
The move led many to believe the Hollywood actress, who recently relocated to Dubai, had converted to Islam – and people were supportive of the move.
Over the last few days, many have left heartwarming messages across Twitter to welcome the Mean Girls star to the faith.
“Welcome to Islam Lohan! Your fam loves you,” wrote one fan, while another posted: “Welcome to Islam @lindsaylohan Islam is a refuge, is a peace.”

However, according to a recent statement from her management, the 30-year-old has not become a Muslim.
“She has not converted [to Islam],” a representative for the actress told GossipCop.com on Monday.
But that’s not to mean she doesn’t share a deep affinity with the faith and the region – the star plans to spend much of the upcoming year volunteering at refugee camps in Turkey, and setting up her own production company right here in Dubai.
Her management team – who Lohan has been with for just a few months – says the actress is “in a period of renewal”.
“I am so excited for this new chapter in my life!” Lohan told the Daily Mail, revealing she’s “very excited for what the new year holds”.

She also revealed last year that she’s studying Arabic, as well as speaking out about her study of Islam (even if she’s not converted).
The actress spoke out about the faith after she was photographed in 2015 carrying a copy of the Quran.
“My very close friends, who have been there for me a lot, in London are Saudi and they gave me the Quran and I brought it to New York because I was learning,” she revealed on Turkish TV show Haber Turk.
“It opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am.
“If this [Islam] is something that I want to learn, this is my own will.”
