From chic home comforts to fashionable coffee table books, Junior Fashion Editor Alexandra answers your pressing style questions this week…
Q.) The second I get home I love to pull back all my hair into a bun and think nothing of it. However when I take it back down my hairbands have caused a massive crease in my locks. How can I prevent this?
A.) Opt for a cotton headscarf to avoid those nasty creases and lines. You can use it to pull your hair off your face and tie it up for that topknot you love. West LA stock Lola Designs both in store and online which we’re obsessed with!
Q.) Having people around my house for movie nights is one of my favourite things to do. However, my other favourite thing is getting home and throwing on a pair of sweats. I know my friends don’t judge, but how can I look presentable without loosing the comfort factor.
A.) I hear you! Best thing to do is start calling it loungewear. It not only sounds chic but if you properly hunt around you can find beautiful pieces you wouldn’t mind wearing out and about, too. Look for sets where the top and bottom match for a smarter look or, alternatively, invest in pieces made of luxe materials like cashmere. After all nobody questions cashmere.
Q.) I need some new fashion-inspired coffee table books. What are your suggestions for the latest and greatest?
A.) There are so many inspiring books out at the moment by fashions big wigs! It’s not even all about the covers, take Carine Roitfeld’s Irreverent, which give you a behind-the-scenes look at one of fashions most influential women. Next up is Assouline who have created a picture-perfect book on Oscar De La Renta. Not to be forgotten is amazon.com where you can pre-order the latest from Lagerfeld – Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Fashion Cat, which launches September 9.
