When it comes to making a statement with fashion, you can never go wrong with Gucci.
That’s the mantra British actress Jodie Turner-Smith channelled last week in Doha, Qatar for the Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) awards where emerging designers from the region were celebrated.
To mark the special occasion, Turner-Smith wore a total of six looks for the evening – two of which were Gucci.
Her first look by the fashion house was a black velvet draped gown with a bright pink bodice, black and gold flower motif, black tulle sleeves and high slit paired with black satin gloves and black patent leather high heels.
Later in the evening, Turner-Smith wore another complete Gucci ensemble – a grey multicolour all-over sequin embroidered Prince of Wales check double-breasted peak lapel three-piece suit with crystal buttons and black patent leather high heels.
At the ceremony, the actress and other fashion A-listers saw six Arab designers take home accolades for their work in the MENA fashion space.
HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Honorary Chair of the FTA, presented the prize for the Evening Wear category to Moroccan fashion designer, Artsi Ifrach. Meanwhile, Saudi designers Siham and Sarah Albinali took home the ready-to-wear award; Sudanese designer Eilaf Osman received the accessories award; Egypt’s Fatma Mostafa won the jewellery award; and the final prize of the evening went to Kazna Asker from Yemen who received the Franca Sozzani debut talent award.
