Regarded as the city of innovation and known for being ahead of its time, Dubai has always showcased futuristic designs that residents are truly proud of.

Adding to its list of displays is a stunning new bridge which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated himself.

Accompanying him was His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and other royal comraderies who witnessed the opening as cyclists passed by.

Infinity Bridge - Dubai

Per the RTA, the bridge is 300 metres long and 22 metres wide and is designed to accommodate around 24,000 vehicles going in both directions.

In a video shared by Sheikh Mohammed on Instagram, one could see the transformation that Dubai has experienced through the years. From sophisticated manmade structures encompassing Dubai’s skyline to now adding the Infinity Bridge on the map.

The caption for the video read: “Infinity Bridge – A new global engineering, an artistic and architectural masterpiece. Our bridges go towards the future and our ambitions are endless.”

Adding to the video was a series of incredible images that portrayed how the bridge is shaped like the infinity symbol.

This project is part of an overall plan for the Shindhaga project that’s worth Dhs5 billion and extends across 13km.
