We’re sold, honestly.

It’s one of the great indignities of life: wrestling with a 25kg suitcase from your apartment, to the boot of a taxi, to the terminal, to finally checking in.

By the time you reach duty free you’re so frazzled you barely remember where you’re flying to anymore. It’s no way to start a holiday.

This might be Emirates’ most luxurious move yet…

Well, that’s a thing of the past now. Following suit from Emirates, Flydubai are launching an at-home check-in service.

And the best news? It’s really affordable. For Dhs110 for one bag, the airline’s partner, DUBZ, will come to your place, pick up your bags, and issue you your boarding pass.

They’ll arrive between 24 and four hours before you fly, and you’ll pay an additional fee for each extra bag.

You can even give them your hand luggage and collect it at the airport. Outstanding.

There’s also the option to have your bags picked up from the luggage carousel when you land, and dropped off at your home or hotel in Dubai. For anyone who’s ever waited (and waited… and waited) only to see their bag be the literal last one out, this is a very appealing idea.

We’re sold, is what we’re saying. You can check out the full details over here on Flydubai’s site.

As you’d expect from the lower-cost airline, Flydubai’s service is significantly cheaper than Emirates’.

With that airline, the service costs Dhs350 for up to seven pieces of luggage, with an additional Dhs35 for each piece on top of that. You’ll also be charged for any oversize or overweight bags.

Happy trails, friends.
