If you liked Light Up 2018, you’ll love these.
The Burj Khalifa is a genuine Dubai icon, and we’re very much in favour of anything that makes it look even more fabulous.
With that in mind, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the Downtown tower in the evenings from now on. To complement repeat showings of its Light Up 2018 LED and laser show, the Burj is playing host to two new light displays.

Called ‘Strides’ and ‘Neon’ (that’s the one pictured up top) the new shows use the same lasers as Light Up 2018, but have different coloured light patterns.
As you can see from this little peak on Instagram, they’re kind of amazing:
Emaar say that Neon is an uplifting, vibrant display with a youthful feel, and that Strides is focused on the interplay of technology and nature.
You can see the shows projected on the 828-metre tower every hour from 6.15pm to 10.15pm during the week, with extended showings every 30 minutes until 10.45pm on the weekends.
The developers also noted that the open call for LED facade displays on the tower is still open. Artists and designers have until March 10 to submit their ideas for a new LED show on the Burj. 10 winners will be selected, Emaar says, and you can check the details here.
In the meantime, you’ll find us inviting ourselves over to the homes of our Downtown-dwelling friends.
Hey, we want to see these shows first hand.
