Michael Cinco, you’ve done it again.

It might be a bit much for the 9am-6pm office job—but if we got our hands on this glorious design, we don’t think we’d ever be able to take it off.

Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco has unveiled his latest creation to celebrate the new year, and it’s perhaps one of his most exquisite pieces to date.

Trailing a decadent 20 feet, this crystal-encrusted cape was created by the designer for a Swarovski exhibition.

Cinco, who is originally from the Philippines, offered a glimpse at the work of sartorial art on his social media this week, revealing the “painstakingly breathtaking” piece took 1,000 hours to create.

The shimmering cape is comprised of silk threadwork and multi-hued crystals, stitched together to create an ornate butterfly effect.

It’s not the first time Cinco has worked with Swarovski, either—in fact, the designer has a close bond with the Austrian crystal company, having designed heiress Victoria Swarovski’s wedding gown last year.

The Austrian pop star tied the knot with her real-estate investor fiance Werner Mürz in June 2017, donning a gem-dotted gown with a six-metre train by Cinco.

The tulle and lace gown was decorated with half a million gems supplied by the Austrian crystal brand, revealed the designer, who set up his eponymous label back in 2003.

Subsequently, the couture creation weighed in at 46 kilograms, with a value of more than US$1 million (Dhs3.67 million).

Cinco is a favourite of Middle Eastern brides-to-be, and has created gowns for everyone from social media stars to real-life princesses.

The couture designer is also a go-to for celebrities for red-carpet events, and has dressed Mariah CareyJennifer Lopez, and 2016 Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, to name a few.

Of course, with such star power comes a weighty price tag, with Cinco’s wedding dresses rumoured to cost in the tens of thousands of dirhams.

So for now, we’ll just be dreaming about wearing one…
