When executed properly, Ultherapy is the best non-invasive alternative to plastic surgery on the market. Not wanting to settle for any watered down version, we visit Rebecca Treston at Euromed – and see real results.
Jennifer Aniston swears by it. Courtney Cox has been waxing lyrical about it and the Real Housewives of New Jersey can’t get enough of it. You’ve probably read a lot about ultimate age-defying treatment Ultherapy lately.
“I’m very open for trying to delay the inevitable”. Ultherapy does just that, Courtney recently raved.
With its ability to stimulate collagen production to tighten the skin around the neck and face, it’s the perfect treatment for those who don’t need (or who are not ready for) a facelift. What’s more, those who have tried the revolutionary treatment are still reaping the benefits two years later.
The FDA-approved Ultherapy is the only skin rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound imaging, which has been scientifically proven to yield highly effective results. Billed as the hottest lunchtime therapy, Ultherapy, which requires no downtime, only takes 45-60 minutes. Patients may experience slight redness or mild swelling afterwards, but generally they can go straight back to the office with their colleagues none the wiser. This differs from Fractional laser treatment, which can take up to a week to recover from.
Acclaimed skincare therapist Rebecca Treston at Euromed is your go-to-girl if you’re looking to have this procedure done. With the success of Ultherapy depending on the number of lines that are used during the treatment, the more experienced the practitioner, the more confident they are with the treatment and will therefore be able to deliver the best possible treatment using the maximum amount of lines. It also comes down to cost: while other rival clinics limit the number of lines to just 500 (as each line costs money) Rebecca offers 1,000 meaning patients are getting double the treatment and, consequentially, far superior results.
The Low Down
A micro-focused ultrasound technology delivering energy to different depths in the skin (dermal or even deeper to the connective tissue) Ultherapy creates microscopic points of thermal injury, so it is essential to ensure you are in 100 per cent trustworthy hands.
After applying a cold gel, the lasers begin. I’m lulled into a false sense of security at first with just a mild burning, prickling sensation, but as she goes over, and over, the same area, the intensity builds and I did experience some pain. Everyone will experience some discomfort, depending on how high your pain thresholds are. Apparently, despite having undergone childbirth twice, mine are dismally low.
Each section is tackled individually with a certain amount of pulses applied to each area. I started to feel like I was in a particularly taxing gym class, counting every beat and every minute.
For a few weeks afterwards, my face feels slightly bruised to the touch which is actually comforting as I know the treatment has worked.
While the full results will only be visible within two to three months as the collagen keeps regenerating itself, you do notice an instant lift with skin tightened and lifted by 30 per cent. With the process triggering the body’s natural response to repair-heal and to replace the damaged cells with fresh, collagen-rich tissue, over time this new collagen lifts the skin.
My neck is firmer and the sub-mental area (under the chin) has also been visibly raised. Having recently celebrated a rather big birthday, I can safely say that it’s certainly not all downhill from here. On the contrary I look a good few years younger. With results lasting for up to two years, I’m already saving for the next round.
