Love was most definitely in the air.

For some recent passengers on one Royal Jordanian journey, the in-flight entertainment was a little more exciting than usual.

One of the airline’s assistant captains proposed to his partner during a flight between Amman and Dubai, getting down on one knee in front of her fellow passengers.

“Today’s flight is a very special one for me since the girl I love is here with us,” First Officer Richard Abu Manneh told the cabin, according to StepFeed.

His partner’s answer was a resounding yes, with the happy news celebrated by Royal Jordanian on the airline’s social media.

“Love was literally in the air on board Royal Jordanian’s flight to Dubai this morning!” the carrier posted on Facebook, along with images of the event itself.

“First Officer Richard Abu Manneh proposed to a very special passenger to his heart. The Royal Jordanian family wishes them a lifetime of happiness!”

This isn’t the first proposal that’s taken place on a regional airline this year either—Beirut-based Jack Sepilian got down on one knee on a Middle East Airlines flight during the summer.

Standing in the aisle of a MEA flight bound for Armenia, Sepilian recounted meeting Aynedjian to the cabin, after asking her to stand up to a round of applause from fellow travellers.

After getting Aynedjian to join him in the aisle, Sepilian dropped to his knee in front of his astounded girlfriend, who quickly said yes.
