The Dubai-based designer dreamt up this mermaid-inspired gown for Filipino star Rochelle Pangilinan.

Michael Cinco’s been making headlines (especially in the last year) for his wondrous wedding gowns, and his latest is no exception.

In fact, it might be the most incredible we’ve yet seen.

The Dubai-based designer created a shimmering mermaidy number for Filipino actress, singer and dancer Rochelle Pangilinan, who tied the knot with actor and model Arthur Solinap this week.

Cinco, who is originally from the Philippines, dreamt up a couture embroidered gown with a softly scooped neckline, but the real star of the show trailed behind.

A three-metre cape, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, beads and pearls, was created to sweep behind Pangilinan, a detail that required some serious hours of work in Cinco’s atelier.

When artfully arranged, the gown’s silhouette echoed that of a traditional Spanish abanico, a lace hand fan.

Have you ever seen another wedding dress quite like this? We don’t think we have.

Pangilinan, who said her “I dos” in Tagaytay on the island of Luzon, later thanked Cinco for creating a gown for her big day, revealing she cried when she first saw it.

You can see the gown in action in a wedding video shared shortly after the nuptials (the fireworks and blossom-canopied reception venue also make for pretty epic viewing).

Cinco is a long-time favourite of brides-to-be, and has created gowns for everyone from social media stars to real-life princesses.

This year alone, he’s dressed crystal heiress Victoria Swarovski for her big day, as well as several royals and even his own niece.

Cinco, who set up his eponymous label back in 2003, studied at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martin’s College of Arts and Design.

The couture designer is also a go-to for celebrities for red-carpet events, and has dressed Mariah CareyJennifer Lopez, and 2016 Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, to name a few.

Of course, with such star power comes a weighty price tag, with Cinco’s wedding dresses rumoured to cost in the tens of thousands of dirhams.

So for now, we’ll just be dreaming about wearing one…
