This Indian royal wanted to channel Aishwarya Rai on her big day, Michael Cinco reveals.
White is the colour of choice for many brides around the world, while red reigns supreme on many a big day in India.
However one bride is shaking up wedding dress traditions with her take on the adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.

The latest client of Michael Cinco commissioned a shimmering sapphire gown for her big day, the Dubai-based designer revealed this week.
The bride, a royal from the Indian city of Hyderabad, looks resplendent in the Swarovski crystal-encrusted number, the design of which was inspired by a Bollywood icon.
The unnamed newlywed wanted something similar to the Cinderella-worthy dress sported by Aishwarya Rai at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Cinco stated on Instagram.
And she went to the right place—Cinco, who is originally from the Philippines, was behind that gown too.
In fact, the bride and groom both donned custom-made couture piece from Cinco, the designer revealed, alongside snaps of the vibrant big day.
Cinco is a long-time favourite of brides-to-be, and has created gowns for everyone from social media stars to real-life princesses.
This year alone, he’s dressed crystal heiress Victoria Swarovski for her big day, as well as several royals and even his own niece.
In fact, Swarovski is a regular client, and wore a similar crystal-embellished cobalt gown earlier this month (seriously, that colour just pops like nothing else).
Cinco, who set up his eponymous label back in 2003, studied at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martin’s College of Arts and Design.
The couture designer is also a go-to for celebrities for red-carpet events, and has dressed Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and 2016 Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, to name a few.

Of course, with such star power comes a weighty price tag, with Cinco’s wedding dresses rumoured to cost in the tens of thousands of dirhams.
So for now, we’ll just be dreaming about wearing one…
