Can we talk about how Old Hollywood-worthy Amber Heard looks for a second?
As awards season cranks up a gear ahead of the Golden Globes and Oscars, designers from the region are in hot demand.
Whether it’s Mary J. Blige picking up a trophy at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala or Jessica Chastain promoting her latest flick, Middle Eastern labels have been stealing the spotlight on the red carpet over the last month.

We’ve never seen anything quite like this Dubai-based designer’s cape…
And that was the case again on Saturday night, as the Art of Elysium Heaven gala took place in Los Angeles.
The annual charity bash is held to raise funds for non-profit The Art of Elysium, which uses art to create programmes for children in hospitals, elderly care homes, special needs education centres and more.
This year’s event was curated by singer John Legend (who’s playing in Dubai this year, FYI), with the night drawing A-list guests from the film and music industries.
Among those stunning on the red carpet was Aquaman star Amber Heard, who turned to Georges Hobeika for a gown dripping in silver screen appeal.
The actress donned a shimmering sheath from the Lebanese label, which featured a halterneck, femininely draped wrap-around waist, and delicately encrusted train.
Is this the best the American star has looked? It’s definitely in her top three outfits of all time, we reckon.
Heard wasn’t the only celebrity looking to the Middle East for sartorial inspiration either, with actress and producer Cara Santana sporting a number by Rami Al Ali.
The Syrian designer ensured Santana stood out on the night in a punchy vermillion hue, with a silhouette-hugging strapless gown boasting a frothy hemline.
Shameless actress Shanola Hampton took home the Spirit of Elysium trophy on the night for her work with the organisation, and wore a Reem Kachmar gown for the occasion.
The powder blue design perfectly balanced glamorous embellishments with avant-garde tailoring in a dress fit for an award-winner.
Meanwhile, here’s the best of the rest on the night…
