The award-winning singer and actress keeps turning to the Middle East for sartorial inspiration of late.
She’s recently stunned critics with her performance in acclaimed drama Mudbound—and that’s not Mary J. Blige’s only stunning appearance recently.
The Grammy winner turned heads at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala on Tuesday, thanks to one scene-stealing aquamarine gown.
The star, who transitioned into a silver screen icon with her turn in the Netflix movie alongside Carey Mulligan, Garrett Hedlund and Jason Clarke, donned an ornately embellished number from Elie Saab on the night.
With a demure bow, sculptural shoulders and swathes of sheer tulle, the gown easily scored Blige a spot on the night’s best dressed list.
The 46-year-old also picked up the Breakthrough Performance Award at the ceremony for her role as Florence Jackson in Mudbound.
This isn’t the first time the Family Affair crooner has sported a Lebanese label in recent months either—the star picked up a win in Zuhair Murad at November’s Hollywood Film Awards.
Blige, who took home the Hollywood Breakout Performance Actress Award, wore an embellished dress coat and sequinned mesh top from the Beirut-based designer.
With the actress tipped for more awards this season, could she be donning more Saab and Murad on the red carpet? We’ll keep you updated if so.
Meanwhile, here’s the best of the rest on the night…
