Do you see the resemblance?
In February, they were rumoured to be engaged, in March they split, and now, Zayn Malik’s new music video stars a model who bears more than a passing similarity to Gigi Hadid.
Malik confirmed this week that Let Me was written when he and Hadid were still together, and that it’s about their relationship.
“I was in love, and I think that’s pretty evident,” the 25-year-old singer said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.
“I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do.”
And if the Let Me video is anything to go by, Hadid is very much still on his mind. Here’s Sofia Jamora, who stars in the clip:
With her colouring and long wavy hair, Jamora bears more than a passing resemblance to the half-Palestinian Hadid.
Twenty-year-old Jamora hails from Calabasas, California – the same area the Kardashian-Jenner clan calls home. She’s modelled for brands like Fashion Nova and Frankie’s Bikinis, and boasts 1.7 million Instagram followers.
In the music video, Jamora and Malik escape a nightclub together after a dodgy business deal goes wrong. Think Drake’s Hold On, We’re Going Home.
Here’s the video in question:
The song is a hit already, apart from anything else. That video has already been viewed more than 20 million times.
