Queen Rania is known for her support of charitable causes, particularly supporting gender equality initiatives. As recently as this September the Jordanian Royal made a powerful speech at the United Nations summit on Gender Equality.

In the past few weeks, Queen Rania has shown public support for numerous Middle Eastern initiatives which support women. Here’s a run down of some of our favourtie moments.
Supporting low income families
On October 18 the Jordanian Royal travelled to Tafileh in Jordan where she met with official from a number of local charities including the Al Hasa Young Women Center . Following the trip, she posted on social media saying “The projects I heard about today from the residents of Tafileh are testament to its people’s ambition and resolve. I wish you further growth and prosperity.”
Empowering women in education
Queen Rania has shown long-term support for multiple education initiatives including her charity, The Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development. A few weeks ago the Royal met with teachers in AL Karak. ” I was proud and touched to hear the inspiring stories of the teachers taking part in the Teach Like a Champion 2.0 program in the south. Congratulations on a job well done!” she said.
Helping those who have lost loved ones
Two weeks ago Queen Rania sat down with four young women (and two young men) who are supported by the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, a charity which supports young women and men who have lost their families. “Earlier today with the ambitious young people who received academic scholarships this year from Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans. You have my and the entire Al-Aman family’s full support,” she said.
Supporting women in industry
This week Queen Rania visited Al Karma Kitchen, and was filmed taking a tour of their kitchens and speaking with women at the company. She posted a sweet picture on Instagram, posing with some of the chefs, writing “Thanks to the chefs of Al Karma Kitchen! Visited them today to see their new frozen food products after a Jordan River Foundation Board of Trustees meeting, where we discussed JRF’s progress and future plans.”
Standing with students
To celebrate international teachers day, Queen Rania visited a group of young Jordanian students. Reiterating the importance of education, she wrote “To every teacher who has instilled in me a love for science, literature, and the arts, and to all of Jordan’s dedicated teachers, I wish you a Happy World Teachers’ Day.”
