She just can’t stay away.

Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, the Filipina beauty who took out the pageant in 2015, is heading back to Dubai this week.

The 28-year-old model and actress last popped into the UAE back in November 2016. At that time, Wurtzbach was still the reigning Miss Universe, and by all accounts she loved her time in the emirate.

Back then, Wurtzbach made an appearance at Dragon Mart 2 and snuck in a quick desert safari. This time around, she’s making an appearance at The Dubai Mall.

“I will be visiting Dubai next week! See you in the Dubai Mall – The Watch House on March 14 from 6pm till 8pm for a meet-and-greet with the Filipino conmunity,” Wurtzbach wrote on Instagram. “Beyond excited! See you there!”

We can imagine her fans are feeling similarly.

Wurtzbach has another Dubai connection, too. At the 2016 Miss Universe ceremony, where she passed her crown on to Miss France Iris Mittenaere, Wurtzbach wore Dubai designer Michael Cinco.

The pair share a homeland – Cinco is also from the Philippines – and an aesthetic. Wurztbach looked incredible in a sapphire strapless gown.

We wonder if she’ll have time for a spot of shopping while she’s here…

Even if you’re not usually a big follower of beauty pageants, you probably remember the ceremony when Wurtzbach was crowned. Host Steve Harvey accidentally announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez as the winner, and had to correct himself on live television.

Yikes.

Think of it as the Moonlight/La La Land mixup of the pageant world. Wurtzbach handled herself with that classic beauty queen grace, though.
