Of Monsters And Men may not be on your iPod yet, but they should be. Since winning Músíktilraunir Battle Of The Bands in 2010 in their home country, Iceland, their toe-tapping mixture of folk and pop has exploded onto the music scene.

After whirlwind success with their first album, My Head Is An Animal, the six-member band is set to play at Sandance this Friday (October 11). Having already played no less than 231 shows in 27 countries, their reputation as a first-class live act is growing.

With such a packed schedule of gigs, it’s little wonder that debut single Little Talks went straight into number one in the US, as well as taking a top 10 position in most European charts.

Now signed by Universal, the band has done some serious festival bagging, playing the likes of UK classics Glastonbury and T in the Park, not to mention a TV appearance on Saturday Night Live.

This weekend, Of Monsters And Men will join a line-up of international acts at Sandance, which is celebrating its third birthday. The multi award-winning event is set to blast our shores with sounds from The Killers, Steve Angello and Bob Marley’s former band The Wailers.
