The Bollywood icon donned a Lebanese label for her second turn on the Cannes red carpet.
We spoke too soon.
Yesterday, we proclaimed Aishwarya Rai might have just pulled out her greatest-ever red carpet outfit… but we didn’t know what else she had in her suitcase.
The Bollywood actress is in the French Riviera this week for the annual Cannes Film Festival, where she made quite the sartorial splash at the premiere of Girls Of The Sun.
Making an entrance in a crystal-encrusted gown with an ornately embroidered train by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco, the Jazbaa star looked like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.
However Cinco isn’t the only designer from the region that Rai had packed for her trip.
For the premiere of Sink Or Swim, the star sported a majestic, shimmering sheath with an attached floral train, for a look that was rich in both high-octane glamour and an ethereal femininity.
The gown came courtesy of Rami Kadi, the Lebanese-American designer beloved for his statement evening dresses.
The icy-hued strapless number was a custom-made creation for Rai, the designer revealed on his Instagram page to his 729,000 followers.
The former Miss World added an avant-garde edge to the fairytale gown with a structured updo, and shared some behind-the-scenes photos with her daughter, Aaradhya.
We’re declaring it now, Rai is officially the queen of Cannes
We might have a whole year to wait until Cannes 2019the next festival, but we’re already excited to see what she’ll wear…
