And it’s by a certain Dubai designer…

He gave her a Cinderella moment last year, but Michael Cinco might just have trumped himself with his latest gown for Aishwarya Rai.

The Bollywood icon donned a dress by the Dubai-based designer for her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend, and it may be her finest look of all time (in our humble opinion).

Trailing an ornately embroidered 20-foot train behind her, the Jazbaa star stole the spotlight at the annual movie extravaganza in the French Riviera.

Rai wore the dramatic, figure-hugging number to the premiere of Girls Of The Sun, where she sashayed up the festival’s steps, showing off the intricate fanned detailing to full effect.

Just look how gloriously it swishes when in motion, too.

Cinco, who originally hails from the Philippines, is believed to have originally created the show-stopping gown for a Swarovski exhibition, a piece he gave a glimpse at earlier this year.

The couturier, who has an atelier in Dubai’s Design District, looks to have custom-altered the number for Rai, who is the first to wear it in public.

The dress – embroidered in hues of violet, blue and pink – took 3,000 hours to create, and is comprised of silk threadwork and multi-hued crystals, stitched together to create an ornate butterfly effect.

This isn’t the first time Cinco has dressed former Miss World winner Rai for the festival, dreaming up a billowing power-blue number for the 2017 event.

The stupendous ball gown featured intricate embroidery and ethereal textures paired against a modern architectural off-shoulder cut, while Rai kept her hair and makeup perfectly pared down.

Cinco is no stranger to dressing a star or two, having worked with Mariah CareyJennifer Lopez, and 2016 Miss Universe winner Pia Wurtzbach, to name just a few of his past clients.

However we think the designer and film star Rai are truly a match made in fashion heaven.

We might have a whole year to wait until Cannes 2019, but we’re already excited to see if they’ll dream something up together for the red carpet…
