Hassan Hajjaj is known as the “Andy Warhol of Marrakech”.
Madonna recently celebrated her 60th birthday in Morocco, and has documented the occasion with some stunning photos.
The iconic popstar reportedly hosted a star-studded birthday bash in the luxurious El Fenn hotel, which is owned by Vanessa Branson (who is Richard Branson’s sister).

The Like A Prayer singer also found time to pose up a storm as part of an impromptu photoshoot with British-Moroccan contemporary artist Hassan Hajjaj. Renowned for his Middle East-meets-pop art aesthetic, Hajjaj splits his time between London and Morrocco.
The Queen of Pop posted a string of photos and videos to Instagram, wearing colourful jewellery and a red Louis Vuitton headscarf.
One video shows the superstar getting ready for her colourful shoot, assisted by local women:
Three of her daughters, Stella, Estere and Serene, even made an appearance in an adorable snap.
Hajjaj was clearly thrilled to have the opportunity, paying tribute to the Queen of Pop on his own Instagram account.
“Life can be sweet and sour and sometimes a surprise can happen that you never would think of and this was one of (those) moments; want to thank Madonna and her lovely family and being patient for the shoot at my riad,” he wrote.
Meanwhile Madonna described her Morocco experience as the “most memorable and magical birthday week”.
