Today (August 8) Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, aka one of our favourite fashion queens, turns 57.

The Qatari royal, who is the second of the three wives of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Emir of the State of Qatar, has been constantly named as one of Forbes‘ 100 Most Powerful Women. She even ranked in at 30th position on the Gulf Business Most Powerful Arab list.

She is the chairman of the Qatar Foundation and has been instrumental in sponsoring education programmes and improving Doha’s cultural scene. Referred to as “Qatar’s elegant matriarch,” she is regularly rubbing shoulders with world leaders and their leading ladies, including Michelle Obama.
A woman who is as serious about fashion as she is about world issues is a woman after our own heart.
