The FORM Hotel in Al Jaddaf will offer tours of the art and culture scene in Dubai.

There are dozens of sprawling hotels and resorts in Dubai. But only a handful of them are well-designed retreats with an affordable price tag attached to it.

That’s now set to change though with the introduction of the FORM Hotel Dubai which has just opened its doors in the Al Jaddaf area of the emirate. Sited in the Dubai Cultural Village, it is the first certified member – not only from Dubai, but the entire Middle East – of the Design Hotels collection.

Located a 10-minute drive from the Dubai International Airport, it’s likely that it will attract its fair share of business travellers.

Leisure travellers also have a good incentive to visit this four-star 5-storey, 136-key hotel. With luxury beds in each room, high-pressure rain showers, high-speed WiFi and HDTV with Google Chromecast, guests aren’t going to be left bored during their stay.

The bespoke art deco furniture in the hotel is crafted by Paris-based Architecture Studio, while the rooms feature photography by Nina Dietzel.

There are three F&B outlets within the hotel. The Roots Kitchen by Parlour is the healthy dining option with vegan and gluten-free items on the menu catering to those with special dietary requirements. Then there’s wrap counter at Concept Boutique and also the Salu Housetop pool bar at the half-length Olympic rooftop pool.

FORM will also be organising special art and culture tours of Dubai for its guests. The FORM art tour, for example, will take guests to galleries, exhibitions and street art venues in Dubai.

In a smart move designed to keep costs low, amenities like toiletries and turn-down services are chargeable as part of an add-on package. That allows for rock-bottom prices of Dhs349 per night inclusive of breakfast, but excluding taxes and VAT.

There’s a special opening rate for the Eid period with starting prices from Dhs224 per night. For a hotel that’s going to keep your Instagram feed in overdrive, we’d say that’s a bargain.
