The musical production is based on the eponymous novel by French author Gaston Leroux, and was first published in September 1909. The story was revamped for a new generation when Andrew Lloyd Webber created The Phantom of the Opera stage show in 1986. The plot follows the titular Phantom who haunts an opera house in France.

The show is the longest-running show in Broadway history, having more than 10,000 performances, and has won multiple awards including the Tony for Best Musical and an Oliver Award. The play was the most financially successful show in history, until it was overtaken by the The Lion King in 2014.

The production is currently showing in New York and London. Although tickets go on sale in January, Dubai fans will still have a while to wait – the show won’t be on until Autumn 2019.

Tickets are expected to sell out rapidly, so be sure to set a reminder for January 1!
