In comparison to Zuhair Murad’s bridal collection for Fall 2020, the newest line feels relatively tame without losing the familiar drama and extravagance.

Instead, the Lebanese designer has focused on the finer details and worked with delicate and romantic Chantilly lace, ruffles, embellishment and printed organza. The silhouettes are elegant and minimal but a Murad bride can always enhance her gown with a belted train that spills over the hips or a detailed veil that drapes over the shoulders.

There are some fuller skirts but overall the gowns have lightness and fluidity that perfectly compliment Murad’s inspiration for the Spring 2021 collection. The couturier looked to flower fields around the world such as Keukenhof Gardens, where carnations and tulips inspire patterns of delicate embroideries, scattered around a corset princess gown, and enhanced with a graceful taffeta bow.

He then travelled to Hitachi Seaside Park where flowers like baby blue-eyes, zinnia and Kochia florets are in full bloom which he mimicked onto the low cleavage ball gown. Fuji Shibazakura Flower Festival was another point of inspiration where you walk down a natural pink carpet of moss that he showered around a sheath dress, whilst mimicking each curve and line.

Murad was also drawn to sunflower fields as he applied crystal illuminating flowers around the square neck fluid silk tulle corset dress, creating a sensual, yet luxurious look. A rainbow of blooms from another flower field served as an inspiration for a tattoo effect silk tulle dress – draped with a dramatic taffeta overskirt –subtly revealing her voluptuous silhouette.

“From the Canola Flower Fields to the Agassiz Tulip Festival, and Provence’s lavender route– the Zuhair Murad bride gathers an assortment of multi-tone florets and scatters them on sculptural gowns adorned with dramatic cape sleeves,” reads the press release. “They all bloom with exquisite crystal embroideries and shimmering pearls over silk tulle and pleated silk.”

Timeless and modern, this journey through the flower fields results in a collection full of romanticism and lightness.
