Our fashion and beauty editor Natalie Westernoff has kicked off day 2 of shows with Max Mara, and it was a bold and colourful affair.

The stars of the collection have and always will be the outwear, and for next season you can expect oversized, shrug-on and go silhouttes in camel and black as well as bright shades of turquoise and yellow.

We also spotted a fresh take on tonal dressing with creative director Ian Griffiths boldly playing with textures and lengths. Accessories stood out this season with an array of holdall bags and a selection of fantastic boots, some with a patent croc finish.

Tailoring was masculine yet fluid, and we were particularly taken with a leather gilet featuring utilitarian oversized pockets, as seen on Bella Hadid who quickly rushed off after the finale to walk in the Fendi show – the last one designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld.
