With the Winter Olympics 2014 starting tomorrow in Sochi, Russia all eyes have turned to one of the High Street’s main players, H&M, for its most recent Olympic-inspired capsule collection.

Known for their collaborations with some of the world’s most famous fashion designers, H&M’s latest sportswear range has the Swedish Winter Olympic team for Sochi in their sight. Featuring both functional sports garments and casual pieces there’s a little something for everyone, whether you’re visiting the mall or popping into Ski Dubai to hit the slopes. The collection, which is inspired by the actual Swedish Olympic kit, is fully functional with each piece tried and tested by the athletes on the team.

Based around the concept of layering, expect to find lightweight jackets, hooded long-sleeve tops and running shorts created to wear over tights. Perfect for any condition the versatile and statement pieces are breathable with the base-layers being quick-drying and super-easy to pack – even if you’re jetting off you can take the whole collection with you.

Pieces that will interest even the most fashion conscious of athletes, include a sleeveless running vest that can transform into a dress and a reversible down jacket with a rounded silhouette. With the seal of approval coming from Swedish swimmer and Olympic medalist Therese Alshammar, you know it’s a collection worth investing in.

“The athletes in the Swedish Olympic team are really excited about the H&M outfits for Sochi 2014 – both for their functionality and their style. It’s great to share the Olympic look with fans through the Go Gold collection at H&M Sport, and to have contributed with our input during the design process,” says Therese Alshammar.
