Another much sought after treatment exclusive to Qua Spa is the Iyashi Dome. It is inspired by the ancient Suna Ryoho practice, which originates from the Ibuzuki beach in the south of Japan. For centuries, people there have been burying themselves in the hot sand – which has been warmed up by the sun and the underground hot springs – to induce sweating.

An Iyashi Dome session at the Qua Spa lasts anywhere between 30-60 minutes. The patented Black Carbon technology stimulates the body with long-wave infrared rays eliminating up to 1200ml of water and unwanted toxins, burning up to 600 calories per session. This is the holiday season quick fix you’ve always looked out for.

And for partying around the festive season, as is royal tradition, we recommend starting with an imperial afternoon tea at Roman Lounge and The Piazza. Elegantly set against an awe-inspiring backdrop of the JBR skyline and the wide blue Arabian Gulf, The Piazza and Roman Lounge present a sweet and savoury treat with scrumptious sandwiches, scones complete with clotted cream and strawberry preserve and delicate cakes. You won’t want to miss the Paru experience
