The fashion director channeled her maximalist style to make a star turn for H&M, and the result is a fabulous love affair with accessories – we want it all!
When H&M approached me…
I immediately knew it would be accessories [that I wanted to design]. I have too much respect for designers to think I can be one, so in creating this collection it is an extension of my editing skills.
I wanted to create something feisty… colourful and playful, with a precious feel. The collection is mostly turquoise, orange and gold. Bright, summery hues that will bring joy to the dullest winter day.
As a stylist it’s been almost magical…
to see my ideas turn into real objects. I’m someone who works mainly with images and fantasies so I selected jewels and shoes and hats that I liked the most and then worked with the design team to create the actual pieces.
Every piece in the collection is iconic…
I love the feathered hat for the fashion-forward customer, the snake bracelet and the front row high heel sandals. The turquoise trolley with golden motifs, however, is the piece that I like the most.
From Versace to Marni…
and Comme Des Garcons to Karl Lagerfeld – I love all of H&M’s past collaborations! They’ve always done a terrific job in capturing the spirit of each designer label.
I like the constant change of fashion,…
which means an ever-evolving range of possibilities. I have no plans to become a designer; that would require hard training, something I haven’t done. As for collaborations, I am open to whatever the future will bring – I act a lot on instinct!
Watch ADR’s new video Fashion Shower for H&M. It’s nearly as fabulous as the lady herself. Enjoy!
