This Dubai weekend we’re living life like a high-flyer, firstly at the world’s tallest supper club and then we’re trying out a new tea concept in the world’s highest hotel. We’ll also be treating ourselves to (possibly) the world’s fastest blowdry and dreaming of diamonds.
Thursday
Getting in on the Act with a new six-course tasting menu
With dishes so innovative you could almost expect them to have been concocted in the savoury section of Willy Wonka’s factory, we can’t wait to sample sweetcorn raviolo with chipotle and crispy corn, not to mention salmon aburi sushi rolls with causa (a peppery potato mash). The modern, Peruvian menu has just introduced this new ‘cooking in motion’ concept presenting Latin and Nikkei flavours in a playful way – perfect for the spirited atmosphere of the world’s highest supper club, The Act in the Shangri-La hotel.
The six-course tasting menu is available at Dhs450 with every guest receiving a traditional Pisco Sour as a welcome drink. For reservations call (04) 3551116 or email reservations@theactdubai.com
Putting our hands in the air and moving like we don’t care

Friday
Enjoying a morning of pampering at The White Room
When it comes to grooming, two words immediately spring to mind: Instant. Gratification. This is why we’ve grown to love the White Room. Not only are is their blowdrying and styling service super quick and effective, it’s also ridiculously good value for money: Dhs65 regardless of how long, thick or unruly your hair is – and we have a lot of hair. With prices so affordable, it would be rude not to indulge in an express facial while we’re at it – prices start at Dhs90.
The White Room has locations at Marina Mall, Motor City and Jumeirah Lake Towers. Visit whiteroomdubai.com for bookings and more information.
