Weekend Vibes

It’s that time of year; the closing parties are coming thick and fast. This weekend Emirates Woman will be checking out the first of two pop-up parties set to round off the season’s Vibe Series, and cooling off in Barasti’s new air conditioned marquee…

Thursday

Staying cool at Barasti

Barasti

Undercover: The Middle Deck at Barasti will be housed in an air-conditioned marquee for the summer months

It’s Dubai’s ultimate beach bar, but recent ridiculous temperatures don’t mean we have to turn our backs on Barasti altogether. The venue has set up an air conditioned marquee on its Middle Deck, and it opens tonight. We’ll be there to enjoy a sundowner in the safety of a climate controlled environment.

Friday

Partying at the last Vibe Series

We do enjoy a good pop-up, so we’ve made space in our diaries this Friday for the first of two Vibe Series closing parties. Canadian duo Bob Moses will be joined on the line-up by Clarian at Tamanya Terrace in the Radisson Blu, Media City. If you can’t make this party, a second is being held on Friday June 12 at a yet to be disclosed location…

Catching an arthouse movie

Here Comes The Sun: Cinema Akil has launched a summer screening programme

A couple of hours in a cool, dark movie theatre is a pretty inviting prospect on a summer evening in Dubai. Cinema Akil has teamed up with Alserkal Avenue to stage Here Comes The Sun, a summer-long film series at A4 Space in Al Quoz. The programme of sun-inspired films kicks off this weekend with Sunrise: A Song Of Two Humans. Disclaimer: If you’re in the mood for a rom com, this isn’t for you – it’s a silent classic from 1927.
