Dancing alongside Sean Kingston, adding a little customised flair to our Christmas shopping and eating like we’ve just stepped off the plane in boho Paris.
Thursday
Keeping up with the city’s latest hotspot
We’ll be heading to Downtown Dubai for the launch of Muze. The live music lounge and restaurant is bringing something a little different to the city with a fusion of Latin, World and Arabic music. The singers and DJs promise to keep us on our feet while the restaurant will be serving up the right fuel to keep on dancing till their 3am close.
Located in Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Burj Khlafia. Book your table at reservations@muzelive.com
Or… getting our RnB and reggae on at Dubai’s hottest new club
If you need a little RnB to get you moving, the launch of Vii Club at the Conrad hotel might be more your scene as award-winning artist Sean Kingston is jetting into town for the event. No stranger to Dubai, the Beautiful Girls, Eenie Meenie, and Shawty’s Like a Melody singer will be entertaining guests with past hits as well as some from his most recent album. We’ll be slipping into the VIP section that, we’ve been reliably informed, has walls covered in gold coins. But of course.
For reservations call (050) 169 6777. For more information log onto facebook.com/VIIDubai. Find Vii Dubai on Instagram and Twitter @ViiDubai.
Friday
Enjoying the breeze at the Pavilion Downtown Dubai
Now that the weather has officially cooled off, we’re putting on our favourite pair of winter boots and heading to the Pavilion Downtown Dubai to enjoy their spectacular views and even more spectacular new menu. If the chillier outside temperatures aren’t quite to your taste, the interior’s green “vertical garden” makes a lush and cosy alternative. We’re still not sure if we’re ordering their updated quinoa salad or their classic cheeseburger.
In the Emaar Pavilion in front of Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai. For reservations call (04) 447 7025.
Shopping… a few million years ago
If like us, you’re still feeling the effects of this year’s installment of Jurassic Park, have some prehistoric fun while you shop at BurJuman. For Dinosaur Month, the mall is prowling with the fearsome beasts. The whole family will love the Volcano Park and Dino Park, their mammoth displays, live shows, dino arts and crafts labs, and screenings of Pixar’s latest family-friendly film, The Good Dinosaur.
For timings visit burjuman.com, call (04) 3520222.
Saturday
Rendezvousing at the opening of Bistro Des Arts
We’ll be enjoying a long and leisurely lunch at the traditional French bistro’s opening at the Marina promenade this weekend. We can’t wait to try their take on 1970’s Parisian cuisine – especially the French style tuna salad, the vegetables stuffed with savoury mince and the archetypical Plat Du Jour, a daily changing special dish.
Located at The Address Dubai Marina Hotel, entrance on the right side of Marina promenade. Call (04) 5511576 or email info@bistrodesarts.ae for reservations.
