Eating At The Sum Of Us
Our only issue with Tom & Serg is that it closes at 4pm, meaning no possibility of a mid-week fix. But the boys’ new venture The Sum Of Us is open until 10pm, making it our new go-to for a casual, end of the week dinner. Team EW has done its research and can confirm that the food is as good as that in Al Quoz, and that the staff are as aesthetically pleasing as the restaurant itself. Just sayin’.

Stocking Up On Pug Accessories At Typo
We didn’t choose the pug life, the pug life chose us. Or something like that. Typo at BoxPark has just taken delivery of its latest collection of pug inspired accessories; including iPhone cases, cute cards, clocks and more. Until our living situation is a little more dog friendly (i.e. not a small apartment 40 floors up), this eye mask is as close as we’re going to get to the real deal.

Reading Hot Feminist
For those of us who refuse to accept that 38°C and up means sunbathing season is O-V-E-R, Saturday spells a little light reading, poolside. Top of our pile this week is Hot Feminist, by journalist Polly Vernon, who got sick of waiting for a feminist treatise she could relate to, and so went ahead and wrote one herself. In it Vernon argues that caring about nail varnish does not preclude her from caring about the gender pay gap. That gets two well-manicured thumbs up from us, Polly.

60 Shades Of Rosé At Cove Beach
Cove Beach’s new 60 Shades of Rosé (see what they did there?) ladies’ night runs from 8pm to 11pm on Tuesdays, with a selection of Cove’s signature rosé wines, bubbly, cocktails and canapés, and DJ Tara Kruzz providing the tunes. It’s the perfect excuse to check out one of the prettiest new venues in town.
