Embodying the warmth of traditional gatherings, Chanel’s creative director Virgine Viard beautifully displayed the Spring Summer 2021 Couture collection on Tuesday, January 26.

The showcase took place at the Grand Palais, Beaux-Arts Exhibition Hall, which is also the Maison’s traditional space, while still envisioning Coco Chanel’s underlying mystical air.

From mini dresses overflowing with tulle bustles to ruffled petticoat skirts along with tiers of flounced crêpe georgette and a matching ruffled bolero, the collection is nothing short of sartorial finery as an intimate wedding is reimagined in the South of France.

The models sparkled in Parisian light, as fresh flowers added that hint of detailing emulating an overall chic rustic charm to this very exclusive wedding.

The bride was adorned in a glorious long dress with a train in ecru satin crêpe, embroidered by Maison d’art Lesage with strass and pearl butterflies as she came down the majestic white horse with every garment before feeling in-tune with the fashion house’s DNA as an ode to a happier spring that’s yet to come.

A lace ensemble with flower-embroidered cuffs opened the Chanel Spring Summer 2021 Haute Couture show as a joyous occasion calls for luminous colours.

Filmed by Dutch photographer and film director Anton Corbijn, a series of vintage portraits were also shot at the landmark mirrored staircase with the Chanel models along with Chanel’s long-time muses including Lily-Rose Depp, Vanessa Paradis and Penélope Cruz in the Haute Couture salons of the Maison located at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris.
