We’re totally crushing on Victoria Beckham at the moment, and just when we thought our feelings couldn’t get any stronger she recently released her S/S14 collection on victoriabeckham.com. Emirates Woman looks at how the former Spice Girl has managed to dominate the fashion scene.

Rising to fame in the late 1990s, Victoria Beckham first came to our attention, and hearts, as part of the the pop band Spice Girls.  Fast forward 24 years and her girl power singing days are nothing more than just a distant memory as she continues to build her fashion empire – transforming her from pop princess to design queen in the process.

Over recent years Victoria has emerged as one of the most unexpected  contenders in the fashion world and has achieved a high level of recognition as a designer. And it wasn’t an easy mission with Victoria  truly defying critics and developing incredible respect from her  peers, all through hard work, talent and perseverance.

Winning over the world’s most style savvy women, Victoria’s growing number of A-list followers includes Miranda Kerr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Adams  and Eva Longoria. She also considers Marc Jacob’s as a close friend and Vogue Editor Anna Wintour is among her supporters.

Victoria Beckham S/S14

Victoria continues to dominate the fashion scene with her highly anticipated S/S14 collection. We see a move away from her earlier work of body conscious dresses and fitted styles with sharp tailoring taking a fresh approach on functional day wear. Her distinct  signature shines through with fluid lines and shapes but presents a more relaxed feel with boyish elements. Dominated by a black and white colour palette, with occasional pops of oxblood and candyfloss pink, the key items include flirty hem miniskirts, slouchy culottes and round-shouldered blazers. Visuals of overlapping rectangles and bonded triangles make up the boxy tunics and vests and the accessories include geometric stamped leather box bags and wedged mules.

Victoria Beckham’s S/s14 collection is available now at Bloomingdale’s, Boutique 1 and net-a-porter.com
