With our fashion calendars fully booked with some of the most highly anticipated shows in the industry, Valentino always seems to stun us with their out-of-the-box sartorial flair.
Their latest haute couture Spring 2022 collection entitled ‘Anatomy of Couture’ and freely emphasised the variety of shapes and volumes, that makes the fashion house beyond inclusive.
By thinking beyond the conventional norm, Pierpaolo Piccioli, the house’s creative director, set out to create a conversation starter with his latest pieces, that were designed to make it wearable for the world through every aspect.
Without relying on a single idealized model, variety was beautifully welcomed as the pieces adorned a diverse set of body frames in an abstract yet powerful manner.
From free-flowing strapless ballgowns go intricate levels of beading and texture, each stitch and sew is a freedom of expression as diverse muses walked the runway.
By exploring the highest degree of craftsmanship, each piece was perfectly designed to the model, ensuring that every aspect was carefully considered.
The colour palette varied from sharp blue hues to pop-out shades, to uplift the collection even more. Each silhouette took the audience back in time where old Hollywood glamour reigned supreme.
Several renowned faces were seen walking the ramp and exploring this notion of freedom. The collection was opened by American supermodel Kristen McMenamy and led by other familiar faces including Italian model Mariacarla Boscono and many more, who reiterated the dialogue of uniqueness.
While being on a mission to defy the reality of fashion, the presentation still ensured that elegance continued to be the prime focus, as the message was conveyed in a graceful manner to maintain the reverence of haute couture.
The show took place in front of an intimate gathering at Place Vendôme in heart of Paris and for more information visit valentino.com
