As an ode to the brand’s codes, Valentino has staged a creative new experience in Shanghai which continues to remain a vital market for the Italian fashion house.
The immersive experience allows visitors to witness the brand’s current and archival collections while also providing a thought-provoking space to interpret the Maison’s codes while adding that artisanal flair.
Showcased in the city’s new hotspot, Power Station of Arts will explore a multimedia display of fashion, video art, cinema, photography and graphics adding elements of Valentino’s heritage while touching upon specific themes including the evolution of the stud motif, the influence of botany and the houses’ artisanal techniques.
This innovative space is divided into different rooms which include, galleries, chambers, a library, a Dungeon club and an Empathy Room to display various 3D Installations while guests can also take a closer look at the flowy silhouettes from Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2020 Haute Couture collection.
From December 19 to January 17, curated by Mariuccia Casadio and Jacopa Bedassi, Kennedy London has conceived the setting as this tour becomes one of the first exhibitions in Shanghai since the runway show staged on the cruise terminal on Shanghai’s Huangpu river.
Overall, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s immaculate vision for the brand has been embodied through Re-signify while also maintaining its storied codes.
