Meghan Markle has been praised for her heartwarming gesture for employees working for US non-profit organisation PL+US.

The organisation is known for advocating for paid leave in the United States, an issue which the Duchess of Sussex herself is currently campaigning for.

Supporting the efforts of the non-profit, Meghan gifted employees from PL+US with $25 Starbucks gift cards supplied via Archewell, her own non-profit which she co-founded with husband Prince Harry last year.

Neil Sroka, director of communications at PL+US, shared the details of the gesture calling the Duchess of Sussex “unbelievably classy” for her kindness.

“The Duchess of Sussex (aka #MeghanMarkle) bought everyone at @PaidLeaveUS a few cups of coffee while we’re working overtime to #SavePaidLeave,” he said. “Unbelievably classy… and necessary. Truly honored to know she has our backs in the fight to win #PaidLeaveForAll.”

Last week, she wrote an open letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi campaigning for paid leave in the US.

She outlined that the pandemic had “exposed long-existing fault lines in our communities”.

“At an alarming rate, millions of women dropped out of the workforce, staying home with their kids as schools and daycares were closed, and looking after loved ones full-time,” she added.
