See a Grammy winner at Dubai’s newest super club
He’s worked with the likes of Kanye West and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and now Grammy-winning producer and DJ Tiesto is coming to Dubai. We can’t think of a better way to get to know the city’s latest big-name super club. Gotha only opened its doors last week, and we’re hearing great things. This is going to be big.
Tiesto at Gotha, Radisson Blu Dubai Waterfront, Business Bay. Tickets at the door from 9-11pm, ladies Dhs150, men Dhs350. Tel: (055) 1 934 934. gothaclubdubai.com.
Catch an international DJ
Here’s one for the deep house fans in the… house. Turkey’s DJ Ahmet Kilic is bringing his hugely popular mixes to Dubai for one night only. Cielo’s usual good vibes, great drinks and creek views will of course be on offer. Get the crew together and make a night of it.
DJ Ahmet Kilic at Cielo Sky Lounge, Dubai Creek Yacht & Golf Club, Dubai Creek. From 9pm, table bookings available. Tel: (04) 161 1800. cielodubai.com.

Make an April fool of yourself
In the best possible way, we mean. DIFC hotspot Peyote is putting an April Fool’s twist on its regular Friday brunch this week, and while it’s still technically March, we’re not mad. Expect Baja-style fish tacos, ceviche verde, and grilled salmon with purslane salad and parsnip puree. There’s even a piñata desert we’re very intrigued by – it includes chocolate bon-bons. Sold.
April Fool’s brunch at Peyote, Gate Village 02, DIFC. 12.30-4pm with select drink offerings in the lounge from 4-6pm. Dhs395 per person with house beverages. Tel: (04) 521 6000. peyoterestaurant.com.
Have your fill of fresh sushi
If unlimited sushi and skyline views are your thing, this is for you. Sho Cho sounds like the perfect spot for a Friday catch-up, and it comes with a live DJ. Expect dishes like tuna tataki, edamame, gyoza and chicken skewers. This could be the perfect start to a big night out…
Sunset Fridays at Sho Cho, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Jumeirah. 8pm-midnight every Friday. Dhs165 per person with soft drinks and Dhs250 with house beverages. Tel: (04) 346 1111. sho-cho.com.

Get fancy at the Dubai World Cup
We’ve discussed what to wear, but there’s also the question of what to do on Dubai World Cup day. Why not go large and watch the race in person? Farriers Terrace at The Meydan Hotel sounds like a solid option to us – expect live entertainment all afternoon, a gala dinner, and great racetrack views. The dress code is elegant, but you’ve got that covered, we’re sure.
Dubai World Cup at Farriers Terrace, The Meydan Hotel. Reception starts at 2pm, racing from 3.45pm. Dubai World Cup runs at 8.50pm. Packages from Dhs1,650 per person. Tel: (04) 381 1111. themeydanhotel.com.
Get the family together for an Easter brunch
Two words: chocolate fountain. Need we sell you further on this family-friendly brunch? Latitude in the ground floor of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel offers international cuisine, live bands, and a warm atmosphere. Time to maximise on terrace brunches before it’s way too warm, we think. Under 12s dine free when accompanied by a paying adult.
Easter Saturday brunch at Latitude, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah. Dhs370 per person with house beverages, children under 12 dine free. 1-4pm. Tel: (04) 432 3232. jumeirah.com.
