His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have celebrated the weddings of 150 Emirati couples.
Per WAM, the weddings were run in association with the Ministry of Community Development as the UAE marks its golden jubilee.
As well as Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, other UAE leaders attended the mass ceremony including His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Deputy Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Council.
Amongst the 150 couples getting married was the son of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE leaders celebrated Sheikh Hamdan’s wedding to Her Highness Sheikha Fakhra, daughter of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan.

Sharing his congratulations Sheikh Hamdan and the other couples who wed, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said on Twitter, “I was happy today, as the people of the Emirates were, at the wedding of Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the wedding of 150 young Emiratis with him.
“We congratulate the honourable Al Nahyan. We congratulate 300 Emirati families for the marriage of their sons and daughters.”
Per WAM, the UAE leaders in attendance also “conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the newlywed and underlined the UAE leadership’s keenness on cementing family bonds and social cohesion while preserving quintessential Emirati values and principles”.
